About
One person, one project at a time.
Two Lane Studio is me. I design and build the site, I write the code, and I am the person you email when something breaks two years from now. There is no account manager, and nothing is passed to a subcontractor you never meet.
Why these three
Inns, farms and Main Street shops look like different businesses and are really the same one. None of them ships a product. All of them have to convince someone to drive out here. And all of them sit on a two-lane road rather than an interstate exit, which means the website is doing work that a sign never will.
The gap between the place and the website is usually enormous. Someone restores an 1840s building, fills it with something worth seeing, and then hands the booking to a platform that takes sixteen percent. That is a solvable problem and it pays for itself inside a season.
How I work
Every engagement starts with a paid discovery week, because guessing at a quote helps nobody. At the end of it you have a written plan and a fixed price, and you are free to take that plan elsewhere.
I build with static site generators and hand-written Shopify themes rather than page builders. It costs a little more up front and it means your site loads in a second, survives a decade, and does not accumulate eleven plugins that each want a subscription.
Your store runs on your own account, in your name. Your domain stays registered to you. If we stop working together, you lose a designer and nothing else.
The unglamorous part
I care a lot about performance, accessibility, and whether the thing actually sells anything. A site that wins a design award and takes six seconds to load on a phone at a farmers market has failed at its job.
